Privacy Policy
Effective 28 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Chargedeck collects, uses and protects personal data when you use chargedeck.app and our checkout software (the "Service"). We are based in the United Kingdom and handle personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Chargedeck ("we", "us", "our") provides the Service and is the controller of personal data relating to seller accounts. If you have any question about privacy or want to exercise a data right, contact us at info@chargedeck.app.
2. Data we collect
- Account and contact details: your name, email address, business name and login credentials.
- Billing and subscription data: your plan, subscription status and limited payment metadata. Full card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
- Usage and analytics data: pages visited, actions taken in the app, and technical information such as device, browser and IP address.
- Seller business information: the branding, product listings and storefront content you add.
- Buyer data passing through checkout pages: name, email, delivery address and order details entered by your customers. Card data is processed by the seller's connected payment processor and never reaches our servers.
3. Controller and processor roles
For seller account data, Chargedeck is the controller. For buyer personal data collected through a seller's checkout pages, the seller is the controller and Chargedeck acts as a processor on the seller's behalf. Sellers are responsible for having a lawful basis and their own privacy notice for the buyer data they collect.
4. Why we use data, and our legal bases
- To provide and operate the Service (performance of a contract).
- To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse (our legitimate interests).
- To take subscription payments (performance of a contract).
- To send service messages and, where you have opted in, marketing (consent).
- To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).
5. Who we share data with
We share data with trusted third parties who help us run the Service, including payment processors (such as Stripe, PayPal and Square), hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics providers. These parties process data under contract and only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
6. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@chargedeck.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the Service and, where you agree, analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any consent controls we provide.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If you have any questions, contact us at info@chargedeck.app.
